When I went down south in September I scored when I bough this yarn on sale at Jo-Ann's. My mom had several 50 % off coupons so I was able to get enough wool to knit my Handsome a sweater for $15, boy was I a happy camper. I am now 75% done and only have the yoke left to do. It is a sweater that is knitted in the round from the bottom up. The pattern is Jarod Flood's "Cobblestone Pullover" and you can find it HERE.
This sweater has taken me a bit longer to do than I expected. I am learning a new technique... short rows.
Yes, knitting in the round, in garter stitch, with short rows stumped me. But I have now frogged ( want to know what in that world does that mean go HERE ) the yoke and I am starting it again today. I am telling the boys to please let me sit quietly in my knitting chair ( rocking chair) for the afternoon and knit quietly, with no interruptions. Okay, I will allow them to interrupt if someone is hurt, the house is burning down, or some other emergency. [o;
Hope you all have a Super Saturday and Happy Knitting!
Those are the only interruptions I'll accept also...lol! :) mb
ReplyDeletebtw...the package arrived - thank you ;D mb
That's a great color, Mary! I'll look up your frogging activity shortly...yes, I DO want to know what in the world that is, LOL! Glad to see you back, and to follow your needles...

So glad it is almost done. That color is very pretty. I do enjoy the 50% of coupons at JoAnn's. I hope you had your uninterrupted afternoon like you wanted. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that deep, rich brown! I bet it will be warm, too.
ReplyDeleteOK Mary, I read all about frogging...yep, I can do that! But that "short stitch" stuff, wrapping and turning? I think I'd better save that little operation for a day when I am feeling energetic and positive...LOL! You are an amazing fiber-artist, my dear...I look forward to seeing the sweater when it's all done!

Lori
Wow...what talent..we don't need sweaters much around here, but your talent would be enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteBrown is my favorite color! Love the rich look of your yarn!
ReplyDeleteThose dratted interruptions... Life does interrupt the knitting, no? Looking forward to seeing the finished sweater! Happy knitting! ~Lisa :)
