Simple Woman's Daybook...April 4th, 2012

FOR TODAY April 4th, 2012

Outside my window... it is raining cats and dogs.

I am thinking... thinking of all the house cleaning that needs to get done for the BIG family dinner for Resurrection Sunday.

I am thankful... that I got the stitches out of my toe yesterday. And that I only have a very minor infection that will be solved with soaking in Epsom salt water and treating it with tea tree oil.

In the kitchen... is a lot of catching up to do with cleaning. I also am de-hydrating sprouted wheat berries to make future muffins with. I have been making some yummy left over oatmeal muffins that I was inspired to make from HERE.

Recipe....1 cup cooked oatmeal, 1 egg, 1 TBSP melted butter, 1/2 cup milk, 4 TBSP honey/sugar/maple syrup, 2 TBSP baking powder, 1.5 cups flour, plus 1/2 cup 'extra somethings' - raisins, chocoloate chips, berries, etc. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.

I am wearing... My olive green prairie skirt and my Shalom Cardigan.

I am creating... A knitted Head Kerchief, pattern is HERE.

I am reading... Psalm 91 by Peggy Joyce Ruth. I cannot recommend this book enough!

I am hoping... that I won't get hurt again for a long while.

I am looking forward to... going out for dinner at our friends house on Saturday.

I am learning... ohhh how I am learning all kinds of things with my diet. I do promise to get going on sharing. I just have to remember to have the camera near by so I can take pictures.

Around the house... are piles to be de cluttered.

I am pondering...how amazing our Lord is so loving, kind and gentle with us even if we are a bit daft. ( talking about myself here)

A favorite quote/verse for today...

"I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust."
Psalms 91:2

One of my favorite things... is a good rainy day to curl up to read and knit with a cup of tea next to me.

A few plans for the rest of the week... clean, try sewing a head kerchief, and keep knitting my other head kerchief.

  11. I couldn't help but flinch when you mentioned about the stitches that had to come out of your toe, ouch! I'm hoping that the Epson salts will help to heal the rest of your poor toe.

Sounds like you have many cleaning plans on your mind. Me too. Just try not to stress too much about it, and get done what you can get done.

Have a great Easter with your family! :)

  12. I've been completely away from blog land (actually the entire computer) for over a week so I am just visiting tonight. It was good to see a post from you, Mary. I'm glad the "zig zag" toe is nearly fit.

Epsom Salt... I should do an entire post on the stuff.
