Garden Goodness and a Peak into My Summer Days

This summer we have been experiencing episodes of power outages because of  weird summer storms here and there.  We  also have been enjoying some goodies coming out of the garden finally, thank you Lord.  I guess being up north things just come a little later than our friends down south.  We have been very blessed with cooking greens, salad greens, snow peas, strawberries ( finished a couple of weeks ago) , raspberries ( peak season right now) , a few carrots and parsnip thinning's.

A veiw into our garden from the house.

Even rain clouds have their own beauty.  I love the streams of light shinning through.

This year we have had some of the most amazing moon rises to enjoy.

As always there are soooooo many new science experiments going on.  I will be sharing some more on this hopefully tomorrow.

  2. Look at that bounty!!! How beautiful...my poor little Texas garden just didn't produce much...it has been 105 to 107 lately.

Oh science experiment.....those weren't usually planned in this boy household..they just did them!

  3. Wow beautiful harvest, and your garden looks wonderful. I had a very very small one this year that was constantly being nibbled on by rabbits gophers and mice despite 3 fences I put up lol!! Enjoy all those yummy veggies Love Heather

  5. Mary, your bounty looks amazing and your lamp lit table looks so peaceful, what I wouldn't give to sit there with you for an evening to chat and catch up!

  6. Looks like you are getting some great produce from your garden, good job. Bummer about all the power outages, that is a bummer.

  7. So glad to hear from you, here! Your garden is always impressive. Wow, those moon rises are interesting. I don't recall seeing such a sight here. Neat!

  8. Oh how I would love to just sit at that table in the glow of the oil lamp...PTL for your abundant (if a little later) garden! My raspberries just didn't produce in the horrible heat and drought here in IL, I sure missed them. They usually give us a September harvest, too, but smaller. Praying that will happen.

One more week until I take Nathan to college and drop him off there...I'll stay nearby for a couple weeks until we get his insulin pump rates ironed out (they'll change with the new life routine, and it's just "hit and miss" in how we know what to do...hopefully we'll "hit" mostly and not "miss" too much!). Then I am an "empty-nester" for a while until Bryan returns home in November. Life is changing here, big time!

Your mountain views always calm my soul, just looking at them. Thanks so much for sharing them!

    Love and {{{HUGS}}},

  9. How lovely to look at your summer when we are in the dead of winter here in Australia.. It is so nice to see your summer harvest and I can just about smell the raspberries that we also grow here in summer. Your lamps look so inviting, and I agree what beautiful sunsets. Thankyou for a glimpse at your summer days.

  10. This little post just appeals to me, Mary. I love that first picture with the power outage and the way it looks homey and "Little House on the Prairie-ish". (Easy for me to say with the lights on, I guess...) I also love the pictures of the bounty and the gorgeous streaked cloudy sky.

As for science projects, I assume you are talking about real ones. I tend to find unintentional ones in my garage refrigerator, and I hate it when that happens. Feel like a failure...

And btw, I STILL love that prayer in the post below. I just saw it again and liked it anew. So true. So true.
