Went for a Walk in the Forest ( Spring 2012)

Each year we hike up to check out the water box ( for our gravity fed water system)  to make sure all is good and working well.   It is such a beautiful hike I had to take some pictures with my new camera.  I had a lot of fun as you can see.

Here is the very last patch of snow  within our walking distance.  I am not about to keep going up the mountain to find more. [o;

As we got to the water box I was thankful I brought my hoodie.  It was a bit cool up there.

This year I have to remember to make a effort to pack a lunch and go up there with the boys.   And...maybe a romantic picnic with my Handsome during on one of these hot days of summer.

  1. Oh Mary I can just hear the roar of the water, feel the mist and smell the sap of the trees! Lovely! You are blessed to have this in your back yard.

  9. Gorgeous!! So is the creek your water source then? How long does it take you to hike to this spot? Truly, it is lovely; I do believe I'd spend many an afternoon camped by such a creek with needles, yarn, and a good book. :)

    1. Yes, this is the creek that we get our water from. We have a back up well that we use when we need it. The hike is almost a mile up the mountain and we should hike it a lot more than we do. I haven't timed ourselves walking it. I guess I should. [o= We do hike it more than once a year, sorry for making it sound that way. Yes I think I need to make a conscious effort to enjoy it a lot more than I have.

  10. Brought joy to my heart...I could see, hear, and smell the forest through your photos! You did a great job capturing the images...especially the water, I could really "see" the movement of the water in them!

    Miss you!

  11. Mary I agree with the others.
    Your photos are so great that we seem to hear the running water without using our imagination at all!
    Fantastic pics of a very beautiful landscape.
    You are so blessed to have it on your doorstep!

  13. You live where we go camping! I thought we were blessed, only having to drive for half an hour to get to the piney beauty. You live there!

    Thanks for the heads up on the head wrap. ;) I'm definitely going to give that a go.

    I'm going to try to post more. It's ridiculous how a messed up schedule (daytime and sleep time) can effect me.
