Coming Up For Air

I am coming up for air for a moment to let you know I survived the hike(s). [o=
But my camera batteries died just shortly after starting towards the lodge. ((sigh)) I still need to download pictures from my MIL's camera and hoping to post a slide show in the next day or so. There was a lot of hiking and I didn't get to sit down to flake out much but we did get to see lots of God's beauty. Oh boy did I get lots of sun too. Well too much sun actually, I had ring around the neck when I took off my necklace, lol.

I felt like I arrived home running. Yesterday was my youngest's birthday. I made enough cake for the big family get together. ( seventeen people) Nicolas turned 11 and he feels like he met a milestone. He is officially 1/2 inch taller than mom. [o= I am recuperating and trying to have our first day of school today.

I hope these pictures are enough of a teaser to get you to come back to see the slide show. Until then enjoy.

  4. Oh Mary - you make me so homesick. We lived in Alberta for a good number of years and we LOVED the mountains. Whenever we approached the mountains I also got a sense that I was 'home'. Well done on the hike to your cabin - we had a vacation like that once but I hate to say we took a helicopter (I know we are pathetic - but it was a 35 km hike through grizzly country and my nerves wouldn't have made the hike! - lol) I could go on forever about the beauty of God's creation - I'm so glad you got to enjoy some of it too - blessings on you - Shelley

  6. Me too! I am running behind since our trip. Trips are great, but they take their toll on mama, don't you think? I will over come this feeling of being behind. We'll do it together! (((hugs)))

  13. Soooo looking forward to your slideshow! My youngest turns 11 in October; the years are flying by so quickly! Belated b-day wishes your Nicolas. :) Hope you've gotten a good start back to school and have settled back into routine after your hiking trip. This weekend we're (Lord willing) climbing Silver Star (approx. 4000 ft. elevation) which is one of my 50 before 50!!

    Many blessings,

    ~Lisa

  14. I'm so glad we were able to reconnect. To say that your hiking view is gorgeous is an understatement. That first shot looks like a postcard, and I look forward to seeing more from you once your breath is caught (lol).

  15. We really must make a visit to Canada someday with such beauty to behold.

Your youngest is taller than you now? So how tall are you? None of mine are taller than me......yet. But Ben will pass me this year.

I hope you have a chance to be still soon and catch your breath before the busy Fall season's activity.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
