I am on a journey to better health lately. I am hoping to blog at least once a week ( or possibly more) on what I am learning and doing to get healthier. To give you a bit of history of me, when I was 19 ( many moons ago) I became a certified Fitness Specialist Instructor. Now after leaving that field, married for just over 20 years and 4 sons later I'm trying to get back to where I need to be. I have gained and need to loose 30 lbs. No, this is not my pre-baby weight but it is a healthy weight for me.
Here is a video of pictures of me and my family over the years. I had originally made it as a anniversary gift to my Handsome.
Here is a picture of me a couple of weeks ago.
Congratulations! We can keep one another company on this journey!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary....those pictures showed your true beauty dear friend :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like the one where you are sitting on the white wicker chair - on the second one, you looked like you wanted to be somewhere else ;-)
Thank you for sharing this journey...I will join you and cheer you on!
Mary,
ReplyDeleteHummm . . . Blogger did not show the video on my end, so I don't know if it's blogger or my Fire Fox Browser.
At any rate, I'm looking to shed a few pounds myself (healthy wise, NOT anorexic wise). I used to be quite overweight, and within a few years, I lost about 67 pounds! Well, some of that weight is coming back because I am not eating right, and I'm not exercising like I used to. I've just gotten a bit "lax and lazy" about the process, and I really need to get to business. Otherwise, I'm going to blow-up like a balloon again, and I don't want that to happen.
I think between you, Jenn, and I, we can help encourage each other on this journey. Maybe there might be some other ladies who are on this journey that need encouragement too. Maybe we can make a weight loss encouragement blog for this purpose??
Okay, I am blabbing too much in this comment. I'm sorry it's so long. :(

Mary,
ReplyDeleteLOL! Me again! After I submitted my comment, the video came up. :)
What lovely memories and pictures. You and your husband are surely cuties together. :) Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Okay, I will leave you alone now! :)
Time has a way of making us weary and making us forget about caring for ourselves through rest, good food, and movement, doesn't it? I am with you on this one, sweet friend!

PS: How fun to see your pics over the years...you were adorable preggers! I looked like a moose w/each baby...
You have a beautiful family! Fitness needs to be a goal for me as well! I recently saw a friend of mine who,in celebrating her 25th anniversary, had her wedding dress on! (She has 9 children!)...so, I think between her and you, I may get motivated!
ReplyDeleteI think you look beautiful! ... and I'm still loving your shoes!
Personally, I think you've maintained a healthy weight throughout the years, even in your cute pregnancy pics. I loved watching the hairstyles change over the years.
ReplyDeleteAs for the health/weight journey, I'm coincidentally convicted in the same way right now so I'll really enjoy your posts on the subject, especially because it's your field of expertise.
Ok, I'll join in here and say, "Me, too!" I just told my husband over the weekend that I would like to lose 30 pounds. I need to stop gaining so at least some of my clothes will continue to fit, but I've got a closet full of things that are just a tad too tight that I'd enjoy wearing again. I guess I need to want it enough to change my habits. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and Mary, I loved your slideshow! That's one of my favorite songs -- it always makes me cry... And I love the mood in your current photo; it says "peace."
Blessings to you and yours, ~Lisa
